| The
Barefoot 'Cheyenne' treeless saddle

News:
The popular Barefoot Cheyenne is now available in a synthetic Drytech
material for $775 unmounted. We are offering this model in three
seat sizes (0,1,2) and in black
colour. A new 'small kids Cheyenne'= size X0 is also available now for $395.00
in brown w. pink - they are super cute!
This new cheaper
line of Cheyenne saddles are the same as the
leather Cheyenne's in all aspects except for the upper material. Please
email us for photo's, questions
and orders.
The Cheyenne is
an all purpose saddle and is suitable for dressage, endurance, CTR,
pleasure, natural horsemanship, camp drafting and low level jumping.
It looks like a cross between a halfbreed and a traditional Spanish
dressage saddle.
The saddle is extremely safe
and comfortable for the rider and the contact is simply superb.
This saddle does not restrict the horse's
movement, so your horse will move with more freedom and ease. The
Cheyenne can be adjusted and due to its flexibility will comfortably
fit 99% of horses, pony's, mules and donkeys. You can ride all your
horses in the one saddle and if you make some minimal adjustments
even extremely differently shaped horses.
The pommel is made of fiberglass and the cantle
insert is made of a flexible foam material to avoid any undue pressure
under the cantle. The standard pommel insert can be replaced for either an xl or a soft pommel insert and we usually deliver the saddle with the correct pommel inserted for your convenience. Please note that the standard pommel is included in the price of the saddle while the xl or soft pommel are an additional extra.
The saddles are made of vegetable-cured environmentally
friendly Nubuck leather. A therapeutic underlay is necessary at
all times with all Barefoot saddles. For riders over 80kg we recommend
the use of the Physio pad or double padding in one of our other saddlepads, see therapeutic saddle pads page.
The girth straps are specially reinforced
with Nylon and have two long points. We recommend the use of an elasticized antigall girth with padding behind the buckles. For sensitive horses we recommend the use of a sheepskin girth sleeve around the girth. Many horses have scartissue under the girth area and apreciate the soft protection.
Please note: Any rigid girth and all unpadded
buckles compromise your horse's welfare! imagine jogging in a corset
while carrying a backpack with unpadded straps or buckles
NEW!!
The Cheyenne saddle now has
a higher cantle made of a semi-elastic material, which is anatomically
shaped, to horse and rider. This enhances the horse’s freedom
of motion and encourages engagement of the hindquarters and vertical
flexion of the back. For the rider
this newly designed cantle provides a deep, softly cushioned and
very secure seat.

Warning:
Please beware that a number of cheap inferior copies of the Cheyenne
saddle are for sale in Australia now. Please do
not assume that you can expect the same
benefits from those saddles. We get phonecalls all the time from
people who run into problems with those and have seen some shocking
examples at tradeshows, so please beware!! That those saddles
are sold without therapeutic saddle pad shows you that whoever
sells them is not interested in the welfare of our horses but
only in the money.
